Day 2 - Favorite Hero
If the picture spam wasn’t obvious it’s Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia.
Asides from the fact that he is both pretty and manly at the same time, Yuri Lowell is pretty much badass personified. He’s 21 and pretty much knows who and what he is. He’s a grown man, who is level headed and very much in control. He’ll do what he thinks is necessary, even if it means killing others and doing it all on his own. He isn’t like many other Tales heroes who are overly driven, exuberant, anxious or confused, read Cless/Kyle, Stahn/Ried/Lloyd, Emil/Luca, Luke etc, and it makes him unique.
But, what I love most about him is that he’s the catalyst that brings out the best of the ToV cast. Whether it’s Estelle, Flynn, Karol or even Sodia, Yuri brings out their character, which almost kind of hides his own. It’s a little hard to see but Yuri really does grow a lot over the course of the game but it may be overshadowed by the others, but in a very Yuri Lowell way, I’m sure he’s just fine with that.
aaand it doesn’t hurt that he’s voiced by Troy Baker and Toriumi Kousuke, my favorite voice actors in English and Japanese.
